Refund Policy

Effective Date: November 2025

This Refund Policy applies to professional services provided by Janine Roy – Expert Witness & Strategic Advisory.

 

1. Professional Services

All services are billed for time worked, project milestones completed, or deliverables produced. Fees paid for services already performed, time already incurred, or deliverables already provided are non-refundable.

 

2. Retainers

Retainers are applied toward future services and are not refundable once work has commenced. Any unused portion of a retainer, as determined at the conclusion or termination of the engagement, may be credited toward future services or refunded at our sole discretion, less any outstanding fees or expenses.

 

3. Cancellations and Rescheduling

Scheduled consultations, meetings, or testimony may be rescheduled with at least 48 hours’ written notice. Cancellations made with less than 48 hours’ notice may be billed in full at the applicable hourly rate.

 

4. No Guarantee of Outcomes

Because expert witness and advisory services involve professional judgment and case-specific variables, no guarantees are made regarding legal outcomes, court rulings, settlements, or client objectives. Fees are charged for professional services rendered, not for specific results.

 

5. Termination of Engagement

Either party may terminate an engagement in accordance with the terms of the applicable engagement letter. All fees incurred and expenses accrued prior to termination remain payable and are non-refundable.

 

6. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes regarding fees or refunds must be submitted in writing within thirty (30) days of invoice issuance. Failure to dispute an invoice within this period constitutes acceptance of the charges.

 

7. Governing Law

This Refund Policy shall be governed by the laws of the State of Washington.
